How can i make my dog not feel depressed?

A week ago my dog ran away and the other one is feeling depressed and won't eat, i already took her to the vet and they said that nothing is wrong with her. What can i do to make her eat again?

I don't want another dog

Take her to another vet. Separation anxiety is very real and can cause her to become ill. There are medications. A good vet would have told you this. Please change vets.

Give her time and affection. She has to have a grieving period just like people do. Offer her some really tasty soft food (just don't keep her on it for good). She'll eat when she gets hungry.

Try and spend alot of time with her!! My friend lost both there dogs..

1 died from a tic and the other got depressed & starved herself!

Just spend lots of time with her.. take her for walks..give treats..

my dog was like that when the other one died. make sure he eats (i had to hand feed mine) he will get over it eventually. just play with him a lot, brush him daily to make him feel good, let him sleep with you if he doesn't already.

Let her sleep in bed with you trust me. My chijuaja sleeps in bed with me and hes totally attached to me.

Get her some prozac.

Just like with people, time and love can heal.

she should get over it, i would of said get another dog but i guess not,

well. all i can say is either, get another dog, find your dog, or just sit back and watch. shes sad because she has no companion. get her a stuffed animal. that might help.
