Can i use hydrogen peroxide on my dog?

she skinned the pads on both front legs and the look a little infected.

Hydrogen peroxide needs to be diluted half and half with water or it's going to burn already damaged tissues! And if its infected, it needs an antibiotic prescribed by the vet. Cleaning it alone isn't going to help at this point.

Are you talking about the pads on the bottom of her feet? If she has an infection on the part of her body that is constantly coming into contact with the ground and all that's on it, she needs more than something topical for treatment since if it's not infected yet but open, she certainly runs the risk of it becoming infected. Call your vet and find out if he agrees she could use an antibiotic; but if it's infected, he'll need to see her to clean it, maybe drain it and dress it before prescribing meds.

How'd she do THAT?

How about cleaning them well both hydrogen peroxide and water (no soap) then put Neosporin on them. She was probably trying to climb something. I have a peke named Max and he thinks he can climb trees.

Needless to say, he can't. Watch your dog closely for several days if there is no appreciable improvement go to the vet right away. And if you can't afford it, call around and see if there is one who will work out a payment plan for you.

Good Luck

Yes, you can use it but, the hydrogen peroxide will change the color of your dog's coat.

I used it on my black and tan GSD/Husky on the advice of the vet and her back turned brown where we used the peroxide. She did get her correct color back several months later.

i would use it
