Any tips on how to get my dog to warm up to my dad?

Shes an 8 month old puppy, and seems to be intimidated by him.

Any tips on how to get her to warm up to him?

Have your dad get down on her level, so that he isn't above her, and have him toss her a treat. Have him gradually toss the treats closer to himself so that she has to get closer to him to get the yummy treat. Oh and the treats? These are not just any treats! They are yummy pieces of chicken, or beef.... something that she just can't resist! It will take her a while to warm, up to him though work on it little by little, it may take a week or two or a little longer. ;)

Have your dad start taking him for walks and giving him food. Your dog will look to him as a source for survival, and this will build trust. Also have your dad give him lots of affection and treats.

If your dad is the only disciplinarian in the house (meaning if your dad is the bad guy when your dog pees in the house, etc.)

Then have him lay off of being mean for a while and have someone else be the bad guy...

Well, when I went to Vet Tech school our teacher would bring in her 1 year old chocolate lab. She was a rescue and very shy around men. An older gentleman in our class wanted the dog to warm up to him so he could pet her whenever he came into class. Our teacher suggested he bring in treats for the dog. So that's exactly what he did! He bought a big bag of dog treats. Everyday he brought in 3 for the dog. He would walk up to her, the dog would somewhat hide from him. So he would kneel down or crouch down to the dog's level and hold out the treat so she could smell it. She would then take the treat and come out from behind the table. After that he would give her another treat for letting him pet her. Then another for her listening to him after he would tell her to sit. He did this everyday, only once and that dog warmed up to him within a week.

Have you dad try that!

its not up to the dog its up to ur dad once your dad tryes to pet him and being really nice to him like feeing him and giving him treats the dog will warm up to him

I think that you should get your dad to give him treats and play with him so he wouldn't see him as such a threat.
