My dog is nutered and our female is in heat, and he got her and when they came un stuck he's penis was ?

Bleeding, and it worried me alot I was wondering if it is normal since he was fixed.

More than likly it was from your females "period" did it keep bleeding? If so call a vet not normal. If no then that was prob it just keep an eye on him and make sure he isnt acting funny. I dont think you are an irresponsible pet owner cause hints you got your dog nutered . Dont listen to people that dont know what they are talking about. Good luck

The same thing happened to one of my neutered males about 5 years ago when I was looking after a friend's female for a week. They hadn't told me she was in season when she came so consequently I hadn't bothered to separate her from the rest of my dogs.

I just happened to look out of my window and saw that my 18 month old castrated male was mounting her and had actually penetrated. As I shouted out to him he withdrew and there was blood spurting from the side of his penis. The friction had caused this to happen and there was a small split on one side. I managed to control the bleeding by holding a wet cloth against it for a while but it was very worrying at the time. Thank goodness he had been neutered!

Since that time if ever any of my girls are in season my neutered males are separated along with my entire dog from the females for the whole three weeks to avoid anything like this ever happening again, let alone any unwanted pregnancies occurring by the one dog who hasn't been castrated.

Neutered dogs can still get the urge to mate and they will if they are living with females on heat so the safest and kindest thing is to keep them apart. The only saving grace is they cannot impregnate the female but it is extremely painful for the dog to try and perform the act.

The safest thing would be to have your female spayed and they can then both live in harmony together without this kind of thing happening again. Once she is spayed there will be no temptation for him to attempt to mate her.

My neutered male goes crazy over any female in heat. It is kinda funny, he looks like a dirty old man! And don't let him fool ya, he has the instinct and they can get stuck together and like others have said, just no babies as a result. Bleeding is what females do in heat, but if he is bleeding from his penis, FOR SURE, you should probably get that checked out. Depending on the amount of blood and the time frame will determine your urgency.

Good luck!

first i have to ask a Q how long has ur male be neutered? if he was only done recently that;s ur answer he still has testosterone in his system when a male dog is neutered the testosterone will be in his system for about 30 days but he will not be able to father pups. and yes it is normal the blood u saw was from the female not ur male, he will still attempt to mate with the female but nothing will come of it no puppies hope this helps good luck and congrats for loving ur dog enough to have him neutered

There's really no reason that he would be bleeding unless you're confusing HER blood as the bleeding...

He's neutered, but the hormonal scent she's putting off right now is just too much for him to handle...Yes, he can still mate, but there won't be a litter of pups to show for it..

Why is she not spayed ??

It's not unusual for a neutered dog to still attempt to breed. The bleeding is not normal, though, and should be checked. Unless it was blood from the female.

It's possible that they came un-stuck too soon. Was/is one of them in pain? If he was still swollen at the time they separated, he could have torn her vaginal wall or injured himself.

if the female was in heat than the blood is from her. dogs bleed too when its that time of the month or whenever dogs get it

lol those dogs need pants
