My dog is 15 and getting kinda arthritic. Is there anything i can give him to make him feel more comfortable?

I was told once you can give him something used on humans readily available. Anyone know what that is?

Two things i know off will help Glucose pills and Aspirin. Ask your vet they will be able to help the most.

My dog had pills the vet gave him for bad days, i was able to give 1/2 the pill and it helped keep him from pain all the time. vets have a few options available for your beloved dog so he does not suffer.

Also before he gets arthritis people give condroytin and Glucosomine. Not so sure of that spelling. BUT consult a vet beofre doing anything so you know correct dosage.

Thank you for being kind and helping your poor dog out!

Gelatin powder in his food is supposed to help.

glucosamine tablets for dogs will help with the arthritis. I think you can give them the human form, but you will need to check with your vet on the dosage for your particular dog.

You can try glucosamie but you'll need to find out from your vet how much to give. The vet might have some other suggestions, too.

Dogs can safely use aspirin. I have always used children's aspirin since it has a lower dosage strength.

the vet can give you pain meds for him...my golden was on pain meds for over 2 yrs before we finally had to have him put to sleep...but they helped him alot till the last few months..
