How and what do I need to enter my dog in a dog show?

I have a Pure bred American Bull Dog and I want to enter her in a dog show.I looked on AKC.com and they don't have american bull dog on their breed chart. What do I need to do to enter her and get her in a dog show?

What you need to do is visit the United Kennel Club website

http://www.ukcdogs.com to see if your dog is eligible for a single registration. Once your dog is registered, you find a local show thru their events page, enter the show with the appropriate forms and fees.

**Just because a breed is not AKC recognized, does not mean it's not a purebred dog. There are many many breeds that are not recognized by the AKC.

You can't enter her in an AKC show. They don't recognize the breed. Go to www.ukcdogs.com and check for their show schedule.

She has to be UKC registered, because AKC does not recognize them. Go on UKC (United Kennel Club) site to see for details.

American Bull Dogs aren't a breed recognized by the AKC. You can try registering her with UKC, however.

Find a dog show in your area and go along to see what is involved. Don't take your dog but do take any 'papers' you have for her.

Talk to the people there and show then your papers. They can tell you if you actually have a registered dog.

If she is registered you need to know just how to show her...eg; what training you need to do to teach her how to behave in the ring.

Find youself a show mentor willing to help you learn.

then it's not recognized as a real breed by the American Kennel Club.

You either go to an actual dog show an ask a member there. ANd then your dog will probably be in the hound or terrior group.

good luck :D
