How do I train my dog to stop?

running up and down the fence barking when someone walks by with another dog? We live on a corner with no privacy fence so this is a difficult task. Any suggestions? She does this when there isn't a dog with the person too. The only himans she doesn't bark at are kids.

This site has a great video of someone working on getting her dogs to stop fence-fighting with the dog on the other side, and pay attention to her.

If your dog is out by herself, go out with her, supervise and keep her happy and busy, then bring her back indoors with you.

There are two ways. You could distract your dog with a tasty treat everytime someone walks past. While your dog is eating he won't care about the person. This would have to be done everytime the dog barked at them so you would probably have to live in the yard to be ready every time. The other option is to give your dog a scare every time he barks. With something like a horn or something. Something really really loud . He'll soon stop. and this way you don't have to live outside ready to pounce with a treat.

I'd be tempted to set up obstacles along the inside of the fence so that the dog couldn't run there (boxes, bits of easy-to-see string)... but that only stops the dog running, rather than curing the problem outright.

Electric dog collar with remote. Or a low power BB gun. :)
