How big will my dog get?

I am buying a mutt this week. She is a mix between a poodle (6 pounds) and a maltese (5 pounds)... I know its difficult to predict the size of a mixed breed but some tips would be appreciated! I live in an apartment so size matters!

5.5lbs exactly. i guess a 45lb standard poodle could pop out.

probably around 5-6 pounds, but then again could be a throw back which will make her super small or super big.... you really never know, especially with mutts... like are her parents pedigree? Because the poodle may be a cross with a german shepherd (i know highly unlikely) at some point in her breeding, and the same for the maltese.... so she could grow to be really big - check her paws. Big paws:Big dog.... small paws, not so big dog.... :D

It depends, just plan on the biggest of both breeds.

Maltese at their biggest are usually 7-8 lbs.

Toy poodles at the biggest are usually 8-10 lbs.

So don't plan on the dog being any bigger than 10 lbs.

It all just varies-the same way with humans.

Size can depend on other dogs within the parent pedigree but my guess is that given the weight of both parents and the breeds, is that you will end up with a 5-6 pound dog.
