Will my friends dog be alright?

my friends father died last week. they have a boxer dog 8 yrs old. when he was dying the dog sat by his bed until he died. since then the dog won't eat anything, he just lies there with his head on his paws not sleeping just lying there. he won't respond to anything. it's really sad. it's 8 days now and he hasn't eaten although he's had a drink of water. we are just concerned he might die if he doesn't eat soon. can anyone help?

Boil some chicken & cook some brown rice, mix them together as a special treat. You could also try mixing his kibble with chicken broth.

you can try to give him special things he likes, chicken, biscuits, etc.

if that doesnt work, then go talk to your vet. the vet will tell you the best solution there is.

That is really sad:( i guess they are just like humans sounds like he's depressed maybe taking him to the vet they may have tablets that could lift his mood to make sure he continues to eat.
